how much is a hp pavilion dv4-2165dx entertainment notebook worth for parts?
Hey, I have a hp pavilion dv4-2165dx entertainment notebook, after one year of having it the motherboard got overheated and fried. It is going to cost me more money to repair it then it is even worth, Im wondering how much is a good price to sell it for parts, so that i dont rip someone off or get ripped off myself. Thank you!

- The problem is.....can you guarantee everything works? I mean, can you take the hard drive out and put it in an external dock and check to see if it works? If so, then you can copy it to a larger hard drive and get software that will let you run it on another machine.....or erase it. Did the memory fry? Did the processor fry? And so on and so forth. If the monitor works, then maybe someone would want that. It all depends on who's looking for components. Price the components new online and go from there. Just know that the product key for the operating system is still good and worth money, unless you want to use it yourself on a desktop......or whatever. Must be used with a like copy of windows, whatever version it is.
- You still have plenty of potentially good parts such as: Hard drive, keyboard, Screen, DVD-RW RAM Internal wireless card Chassis AC Adapter Battery You can easily get more than $250-350 out of it and maybe much more if it's cosmetically in excellent shape (minor scratches, little to no scuffs). I sold an older model HP with the same problem and got more than $250 on ebay. Started my bid at $1, expecting less than $150. I'm not guaranteeing anything but there's a lot of market for this type of laptop.
