- are you kidding? it's the 2nd time as you ask this question. the 3rd time you will ask for sure if an AM3 cpu will fit a socket LGA 775. please search for AM3 motherbords having a chipset of the 8x0 family, those are compatible for sure with a Phenom II X6. and btw, a notebook hard drive in a desktop is pretty pain in the ass. this hard drive is better suitable for a desktop http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&cm_re=samsung_1tb_spinpoint_7200_rpm_32mb_cache_sata_3-_-22-152-185-_-Product
- No they are not compatible. The CPU will not fit in the motherboard since the socket is different. Also using a laptop hard drive is not a great idea as you can just purchase a desktop variant for less.
