buying used computer parts help?

on craigslist i found 2 good offers, wd 500gb caviar blue hdd for $40 (good condition and willing to guaranteed for 30 days) http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/sys/2640097652.html and a sapphire radeon hd 5770 gpu for $60 (excellent condition) http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/sys/2663978199.html are these good values? is it safe to buy used computer parts?

1. 5770 can run at 900 core clok and 1300 memory clock yeah good, card.HDD is how old ?
2. I would stay away from used hard drives. Standard hard drives have moving parts, so can suffer from mechanical failure. A Craigslist guarantee means nothing unless you're willing to pursue it in small claims court. 5770 for $60 is reasonable. I'd pick that up. Just make sure the seller is selling it out of his home or job. Don't make the same mistake I did buying hardware in a parking lot (faulty, no real way to get back at him, ripped off).
