- It's normal. My laptop runs pretty warm all around.
- Portions of a laptop, like any computer, will generate heat. It sounds like you've been recharging your battery. As part of converting the electricity from current to potential power, heat is produced. The heat has to dissipate somewhere. It's not necessarily a problem, as long as you allow air to circulate around the laptop and let the heat dissipate into the air. These days, many people use their laptops in bed, and end up NOT letting the laptop cool off. They then wonder why the laptop stops working. They rest on raised feet for a reason - not for stability, but to allow for air to circulate under the case.
