HP n5445 notebook screen goes green when tilted past 90 degrees from closed position?

I noticed a problem with blinking that could be sometimes corrected by tapping the screen or running malware scans. But now, it appears that tilting the screen towards the closed position makes the problem go away. Also, it will not download a security high priority update from Microsoft. Not sure if this is part of the screen problem or not. HP had notes on their site saying that a malware producer was using their update program routing to install malware on computers when they had their updates set to automatic. I suspected this when, at times, my desktop would freeze up and the only thing running in the task manager was HP Updates. I am not too sure whether to trust HP at this point unless I personally visit their site for a particular designated update that I find is there when I go there. So what is the fix for the screen problem?

1. One would have to call HP Tech Support since there was no mention of the above problem on HP's website. The document below defines criteria for replacing a bad LCD screen.
